It is the firm policy of this Company to take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety. health and welfare, of all employees, in the fulfilment of its moral, legal and economic responsibilities. These measures are also aimed at protecting others who may be affected by our day-to-day working activities.
It is a management function to provide the right circumstances under which work may be carried out safely. However, all employees must understand that they have a legal duty, not only to work in a safe manner, but also to co-operate with the management in any efforts to discharge their responsibilities.
The Company will maintain close co-operation with clients, sub-contractors, HSE Inspectorate, Safety Advisors, and all Law Enforcement Agencies, so far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure that procedures and practises are satisfactory. The Company will ensure that, all possible assistance is given to clients in regard to safety requirements.
The Company will make every reasonable effort to promote amongst its employees, a genuine awareness of safety matters and to create an understanding of the importance of safe working practises, including the use of protective clothing, protective equipment, safety aids, and safe driving practises. Employees will be encouraged to involve themselves fully in safety activities, and the reporting of unsafe working practises or conditions. Particular importance will be paid to the requirements of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations, and employees will be required to abide by all Risk Assessments made by the Company.
The Company will ensure that all driving duties are carried out in a correct and legal manner. All employees undertaking the duty of driving a vehicle on Company business will be required to abide by all United Kingdom Road Traffic Regulations, and drive said vehicles in a law abiding and courteous fashion. Employees will be required to abide by all Risk Assessments made by the Company appertaining to driving of vehicles.
The Company will establish appropriate documentation procedures and will define responsibility and accountability for safety at all levels.
The Company will permit safety representation as prescribed under the Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations 1976, and the Health & Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996 and will consult with such safety representatives on all matters appertaining to Health & Safety.
Contractors have duties under legislation to conduct their undertakings in such a way, so far as is reasonably practicable, that their employees and others affected by what they are doing are not harmed. It is incumbent upon the contractor to find out about the health, safety and welfare requirements of sites or premises controlled by Manastra Limited.
This policy statement may be amended, monitored and added to from time to time, and a copy will be issued to all affected by such a change.
